Special message from the Director
March 14, 2020
Dear Patrons of the Marquette Heights Public Library,
Our staff and board believe the health and safety of our patrons is of the highest priority. Our decision to close the library was based on recommendations by the city, IDPH and CDC guidelines regarding the reduction of the spread of COVID-19. The recent actions taken by authorities may seem extreme, but are in the best interest of our community. We will evaluate the need for closure as we continue to learn more about the virus.
While the Marquette Heights Public Library is closed, staff is still working to provide limited services to our patrons. We will be available for phone calls, renewals, and other limited services. If we are not available to answer a call, patrons can leave a voice message or email us via the contact form on our website: www.mhlibrary.com
We encourage patrons to download all of the RSAcat mobile apps to access ebooks and audiobooks while we maintain social distancing. It’s a great service that many people already enjoy and we want everyone to know about it now more than ever! https://alsi.sdp.sirsi.net/client/en_US/MarquetteHeightsPL/
For families with students at home, check out our online encyclopedia from World Books:
The local Xfinity WiFI hotspot is located here at the city building and can be accessed from the parking lot. Visit this link to help you find local hotspots in our community: https://hotspots.wifi.xfinity.com/mobile/?nc
For anyone with library materials, we have extended the due dates and will be waiving any fines accrued as well during this time period.
We will continue to communicate with you as we learn more about the containment of the outbreak. It is our hope to resume our normal routine and to welcome you all back to the library very soon. Until then, visit www.mhlibrary.com to take advantage of all of our digital resources.
